Ranks
Alpha
The alpha male and alpha female are the leaders of the pack. They are responsible for the safety and well-being of the pack. They accept members, kick members out, and assign ranks. Fights for the alpha ranks are usually death matches but if they're not, the looser is usually kicked out of the pack. There are two alphas, one male and one female, and they are mates. Must be at least two years old.
Heir
The heir is usually an alpha pup but does not have to be. When the current alphas retire or die, the heir takes their place as the new alpha. He/she also steps in as the alphas when they are busy. The heir can accept members, kick members out, and assign ranks if the alphas allow him/her too. There is one heir who can be either gender. This rank cannot be fought over, it is assigned by the current alphas. Must be at least one year old.
Beta
The beta male and female are close friends of the alphas and help them run the pack. If their is no heir or the heir is away, the betas step in for the alphas. If allowed, they can accept members, kick members out, and assign ranks. There are two betas, one male and one female, who are usually mates. This rank can be fought over. Must be at least two years old.
Elders
Elders are the old Morpans in the pack and are highly respected. They are very wise and pass on the history of the pack and important lessons to the younger members and tell stories to the pups. They often give the alphas advice on things. Elders may or may not participate in pack hunts, it depends on if they want to or not. There is an unlimited amount of elders. Elders are usually 8 or older.
Babysitter
Although it might not seem like it, the babysitter is a very important rank. All members of the pack help to raise the pups but the babysitter is a Morpan who is especially good at caring for little ones. It also cares for and protects the pups while the pack is hunting. This member must be trusted by the alphas and needs to have a lot of tolerance and patience. The babysitter also must be mature while still being able to play with the pups. There is one babysitter who can be either gender. Must be at least one year old.
Hunters
Hunters make up most of the pack. They go on all pack hunts and help to find and bring down the prey. There are two subcategories of hunters, ambushers and trackers. There is an unlimited amount of hunters. Must be at least one year old.
Ambushers are the members that mainly attack and kill the prey. They are generally big, strong ones.
Trackers are the members who mostly find or separate prey form it's herd. They are generally more agile than ambushers.
Sentries
The sentries guard and patrol the pack borders. They are responsible for protecting their pack from intruders and for keeping new members on the borders of pack territory until an alpha or beta arrives. There is an unlimited amount of sentries. Must be at least one year old.
Omega
The omega is the lowest rank in the pack and is basically treated like dirt. The other pack members often takes their anger out on the omega. Omegas either get pushed into this position because they are too submissive or weak, or they get put here because they keep getting in trouble. There is usually only one omega though there could be more. Must be at least one year old.
Alpha Pups
Alpha pups are the offspring of the alphas who are under a year old. Like all pups, they are too young to hold a position in the pack but the alpha pups do get a little more respect from everyone since they are the future alphas. There is an unlimited amount of pups. Under a year old.
